Oregon Wine Press, NEWS BRIEFS - November 2007 - Treehouse Tastin'
Vista Hills Vineyard, one of the premiere vineyards of Yamhill County, will officially open a new treehouse-inspired tasting room and event facility on Saturday, Nov. 17. The tasting room and event facility overlook Vista Hills' 45 acres of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris atop of the Dundee Hills American Viticultural Area (AVA).
"Inspired by Oregon's natural landscape, the new treehouse tasting room is a two-story structure designed by Waterleaf Architectural Firm and constructed by O'Brien Constructors. This team produced the classic structure in the traditional Northwest style. One of the objectives of co-owners John and Nancy McClintock was to recycle a large part of the Douglas Fir and White Oak obtained from the site.
"This beautiful, new tasting room symbolizes our family's commitment to Oregon and Oregon's vast resources," said David McDaniel, president and co-owner of Vista Hills properties.
Throughout their life and business, the McClintocks have always focused on appreciating nature and giving back to society.
In the late 1980s, John and Nancy set up The Clint Foundation with its sole purpose to assist college students who are working their way through college. In order to help fund this effort, 10 percent of all Vista Hills profits are directed to The Foundation each year. Clint Foundation scholarships are available to students at several colleges across the country including Oregon schools Linfield College in McMinnville and George Fox University in Newberg.
The wines of Vista Hills are crafted by many talented Willamette Valley winemakers, including: Laurent Montalieu of Soléna, Michael Stevenson of Panther Creek Cellars, Greg Sanders and Jesus Guillen of White Rose, Jason Silva of Wheatland Winery and Jim Seufert of Seufert Winery.
Grand opening festivities on Nov. 17, will involve wine tasting of current Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris releases. Guests may also enjoy paired appetizers. Vista Hills is located at 6475 Hilltop Lane, outside of Dayton. For more information, please visit www.vistahillsvineyard.com."
